A teacher is not needed by those who think they already know. What would a teacher teach a student that already knows what the teacher knows? Only those who accept the truth that they know not and want to learn are in need of a teacher. God’s Teacher of Peace stands ready at all times to enter the mind of anyone who realizes they don’t already know and are anxious to learn. But He will not enter until He’s sincerely invited to do so by the desire to learn and the realization that you do not already know. 

“Think not you understand anything until you pass the test of perfect peace, for peace and understanding go together and never can be found alone.”   ~~A Course In Miracles 

In this world of physicality and illusions the idea that peace is the eternal partner of understanding and therefore cannot be found without it is a concept that usually doesn’t even enter our minds. There’s not a whole lot of peace to be found in this world simply because it’s a world based in fear and understanding keeps itself aloof from fear for its an attribute of love. 

There’s two aspects of almost every subject when it comes to understanding. For example, even in this world using your ego mind of separation you understand that the sun “sets” because the Earth revolves on its so-called axis every twenty-four hours. In other words the sun doesn’t do anything except shine its light upon that part of the Earth that is facing toward it. 

When the part of the Earth upon which you’re located rotates beyond the sun’s line of sight, so to speak, the sun “sets.” Which is an illusion, for as mentioned above, the sun hasn’t done anything except shine. This daily occurrence is not that difficult to understand even with your separated mind.

What is difficult to grasp and understand is the intelligent Power that holds the Earth and the sun in their exact locations and keeps the Earth rotating at the exact speed needed to cause the illusionary display we refer to as a “sunset” at a precise and predictable time every twenty-four hours year after year after year throughout history. 

“Hear then the one answer of the Holy Spirit to all the questions which the ego raises. You are a Child of God, a priceless part of His Kingdom, which He created as part of Him. Nothing else exists, and only this is real.”   ~~A Course In Miracles 

Your understanding and its companion, perfect peace, will be similar to a sunset’s opposite, which is another illusion we refer to as a “sunrise,” once you can accept that you, as a Child of God, are part of the same mighty Power that keeps all this happening. Your understanding will be similar to a “sunrise” in that it will begin to rise above the ego’s dark clouds of deceit and illusions and grow brighter and brighter with each passing day until the Light of understanding and perfect peace floods your whole world.

The decision to accept the truth that you are part of God and therefore part of everything in existence will eventually bring to your awareness the recognition that you are Spirit. With this recognition, understanding and its eternal companion perfect peace will begin to rise in your awareness. Perfect peace will make itself known as understanding tells you that everything in existence has its existence in you.

“In you is all of Heaven. Every leaf that falls is given life in you. Each bird that ever sang will sing again in you. And every flower that ever bloomed has saved its perfume and its loveliness for you.”   ~~A Course In Miracles  

In The Course Jesus says: “This course will be believed entirely or not at all. For it is wholly true or wholly false and cannot be but partially believed.” Therefore, you either believe the above quote to be true or you believe it to be false. There is no in-between. If you believe any of The Course then you must accept that the above quote is true. As soon as you accept it as true your understanding will have no choice other than to reveal itself; to bring truth to your awareness. For the words cannot but promote understanding  of what lies beyond the physical world that your body’s eyes show you. 

Just think of what it’s telling you about what you really are if all of Heaven is in you. Try to contemplate upon the words, every leaf that falls is given life in you. What does it feel like to even consider the possibility that each bird that ever sang will sing again in you?  What about the idea that every flower that ever bloomed has saved its perfume and its loveliness for you? 

If you can accept the truth of all these beautiful descriptions about your Self how could perfect peace keep itself from you? With acceptance comes the burning desire to understand. And in answer to this burning desire understanding will be given to you. The recognition that as a Child of God you are an extension of Spirit will slowly, but surely, trickle into your awareness.  

“You are the Spirit lovingly endowed with all your Father’s love and peace and joy. You are the Spirit which completes Himself and shares His function as Creator. He is with you always, as you are with Him.”   ~~A Course In Miracles

The above quote is from Lesson 97 in The Course which is titled: I am Spirit. I would suggest that anyone who wants to increase their understanding of existence and their place in it should read and meditate upon this lesson frequently. You can access it here. 

 In the above quote Jesus doesn’t just tell you that you are Spirit but that you are the Spirit. And he also tells you that as the Spirit you share God’s function as Creator. Once this information enters your belief system and your understanding you’ll realize why every leaf that falls is given life in you. You’ll understand that the illusion we refer to as death has no hold on you and why each bird that ever sang will sing again in you. The truth that every flower that ever bloomed has saved its perfume and its loveliness for you will not be a mystery to you. 

All these beautiful happenings occur because nature knows its Creator. The leaves, the birds and the flowers have no egos to teach them they’re not really what they are. They know what they are and they know who their Creator is. Humans, on the other hand, are mostly egos which teach us we’re not really what we are but something else. Egos teach the belief that we’re physical beings living in a self-created prison which we refer to as the world. Because we have accepted this teaching and believe it we have lost sight of who and what we are and therefore we have forgotten who and what our Creator is. 

I’m going to close this post with a quote from A Course In Miracles: “You have the right to all the universe—to perfect peace, complete deliverance from all effects of sin, and to the life eternal, joyous and complete in every way, as God appointed for His holy Son.”
