“In all scenarios you remain the maker of your world, giving it its causes and effects.” …ACOL
How many humans really and truly believe that the world they live in is an effect of their own thinking? I’m not talking about buildings, roads, automobiles, streets and other man-made things. These things are the results of the combined thoughts of many separated minds.
I’m not talking about oceans, trees, rainbows, sunsets, flowers, and mountains. These things are representations of creation. They represent the creations of the universal Mind of Love even though we don’t see them in all their awesomeness and glory. What I am talking about are the lives of individuals and the experiences they have while they’re part of this physical dimension we so erroneously refer to as life.

“All that you now see are but symbols of what is really there before you, in glory beyond your deepest imaginings.” …ACOL
There’s an old adage that says, seeing is believing. When you see something with your own eyes no one can then convince you that it’s not true.
The body’s eyes are made to see only form and therefore, their vision must stop at the surface. Spirit has no form except that which you give it. Therefore, every form the body’s eyes rest upon is what you believe to be reality. This is so because you have given it every bit of meaning it has for you.
A Course in Miracles speaking about the body’s eyes tells us: “They cannot see beyond what they were made to see. And they were made to look on error and not see past it.” And so they look upon misery, squalor, aged bodies, sickness and death and convince you that all these things are true for that’s what they see and seeing is believing.

But whether you believe them or not is a choice you can make. For you can choose to believe what the body’s eyes tell you or you can choose to see with Christ’s Vision.
When you choose Christ’s Vision you’ll see the opposites of these things. You’ll see happiness instead of misery, purity instead of squalor, heath instead of sickness and life instead of death.
Believing what the body’s eyes tell you is a choice that just comes natural to our upside down thinking and is so easy to make. It’s so natural and easy that you’re usually unaware it’s a choice. But it is and your choice is always based on the state of your mind. You always see a representation of your beliefs projected outward.
When you look at another person your eyes see only the body. They’re not capable of reaching beyond it and seeing a representation of a glorious creation of God. Whether you believe them and see only the body or believe them not and behold a glorious creation of God depends on whether you focus from the ego-mind or the heart. Your beliefs always determine which method of seeing you choose.
Your eyes cannot provide you with any idea of what the person the body represents is feeling. Therefore, by looking with the physical eyes only you must make the human error of perceiving him or her in judgement. And you will always judge according to your own perception. Or you can make a different choice and choose to see with Christ’s Vision which dwells in the heart. When you choose to look with Christ’s Vision you have chosen to see with the only true method of seeing there is.

“You think of the heart as the place of feeling, and thus you associate emotions with your heart.” …ACOL
Most people believe that emotions originate in the heart, the very center of being, the home of Love Itself. Because it is the home of Love is the exact reason why the heart cannot be the source of human emotions. Emotions can range from extreme feelings of euphoria to extreme feelings of depression. Love isn’t even aware of these extremes for It knows only true happiness. In A Course of Love, Jesus tells us: “Emotions, however, are really reactions of your body to stimuli that arrive through your senses.”
In this world of illusions many people, probably most people, are of the belief that Love can be hurtful and cause pain. And they’re right, for the love we experience in this world is an emotion. As Jesus says, emotions are reactions of your body to stimuli that arrive through your senses. And without doubt these stimuli are capable of causing extreme emotional pain.
“The body’s eyes are not the eyes with which love can be recognized. Christ’s vision is. For only Christ’s vision beholds the face of God.” …ACOL

It needs repeating again and again that the world you see is a world of illusions. The only purpose of illusions is to hide the truth. Therefore, absolutely nothing in this world is as it seems to be and that includes love.
The above ACOL quote implies that Love and the face of God are one and the same thing. This is a well hidden truth in this world of illusions; for whom among us ever recognizes it? There’s not one of us that doesn’t inherently know that we’re not at home in this world. And even though we’re not aware of it we’re continuously searching for our home. We’re doing so not realizing that Love, which is the heart of God, is our Home and in truth we’re already there.
Nevertheless the unrelenting desire to return to something we have never left, but believe we have, leads us on a continuous search for Love outside of ourselves where it can never be found. The world outside of ourselves is a world of illusions and its foundation is fear. Whenever we find that which we believe to be Love in this world we can be sure it’s really fear disguised by illusion which the ego tells us is the Love we’re searching for.

This is easily verifiable by the fact that when we love someone in this world a gnawing feeling of loss is always lingering just below the surface. That nagging and fearful feeling that some terrible accident or circumstance will take our loved one from us is always there in the back of our minds.
“There is no home can shelter love and fear. They cannot coexist. If you are real, then fear must be illusion. And if fear is real, then you do not exist at all.” …ACIM
It is absolutely impossible to experience Love and fear at the same time for as the above quote says, they cannot coexist. It is absolutely impossible to experience Love and suffer loss at the same time for Love and loss cannot coexist. If you believe either of these experiences are possible then you are listening to your ego tell you what love is and ignoring the calling of your heart.
Love is not some emotion you discover as a reaction to a certain stimulus in this world. Love is not something you do or something you fall into. Love is what you are and what you are cannot be found, it can only be recognized and formed a relationship with. When you recognize and then form a relationship with Love you have formed a relationship with your Self and with God.
You then realize that this and all relationships formed with Love are eternal. You begin to understand that the loved one you’ve formed a relationship with can never be lost, for the relationship is eternal. That’s why it’s said, perfect Love casts out fear.
The body is not eternal. It was made to self-destruct and therefore it will pass away. Because we see it as who we are we see this passing away as the end of life, which is the most fearful illusion the ego has in its arsenal. But it’s a lie, the body is not you and its destruction is not the end of anything except this physical experience. Life and all Its relationships are eternal. They will never pass away. And neither will you or your loved ones.
I’m going to end this post with a quote from A Course of Love: “You think relationship exists between one body and another, and while you think this is so, you will not understand relationship or union or come to recognize love as what it is.“
Thank you for visiting this site. I am Blessed by your visit and oh so grateful for it.
“Love is your safety. Fear does not exist. Identify with love, and you are safe. Identify with love, and you are home. Identify with love, and find your Self.”
