“Poetry might be defined as the clear expression of mixed feelings.” —W.H. Auden
“Meraki: (V.) To do something with soul, creativity, or love; to leave a piece and essence of yourself in your work.”
There is no better definition of what I’m doing as I write these stories in prose than that described above by W.H. Auden. I sure have plenty of mixed feelings and this little poem is my attempt at expressing them. It’s an expression of my feelings about Easter.
Easter
In the showery month of April each and every year,
An event is celebrated by millions who hold it very dear.
This event is said to have happened two thousand years ago,
And millions of people still celebrate it with their hearts all aglow.
This celebration happens on Sunday, following the first moon that’s full
After the spring equinox, which signifies night and day have equal pull.
It happens at this time of year for very significant reasons,
It signifies the springing forth of new life and the changing of the seasons.
Many aspects to the observance of Easter this poem is going to ignore,
Such as Ash Wednesday, Lent and Good Friday for sure.
It’s focused on the important aspect; Resurrection and renewal of life,
And not on physical occurrences such as death, pain and strife.
Easter represents not rabbits and eggs, which are a physical metaphor,
But celebrates an event that has no equal in history, whether after or before.
It celebrates the beginning of the end of illusions of which this world is rife
And the coming of Light to enlighten minds to the Truth of life.
Many millions celebrate Jesus’ death, which means they celebrate an illusion,
He himself said, “I will raise it up,” which should cause a different conclusion.
There’s no such thing as death; there never was and never will be,
He was referencing his body and if “he” raised it up then this Truth is plain to see.
Jesus’ mission was to teach the good news that his Father is a God of Love,
Not a punisher of his own creations; a human frailty not from above.
A God of Love, joy, health, forgiveness and peace of which Jesus is Prince,
He has never been anything other than this, neither before nor since.
Many cling to the cross the most barbaric and cruel thought ever to enter the mind,
Time and time again, even in song, they promise to cling to it thinking it to be kind.
It’s no more than a pathetic human error to cling to such an emblem of shame.
It should be shunned in the most complete manner and its purpose the same.
The greatest instant in human history, in my opinion, is when Jesus spoke
In reply to Mary’s inquiry of where they had taken him and she awoke.
Until this instant everything was in darkness and she recognized him not,
But when he spoke the word “Mary” she recognized what she had sought.
She failed to recognize him for he had left this illusion we erroneously refer to as life.
The prime purpose of the whole event was to expose illusions of death and strife.
He raised her mind to higher frequencies, which is true resurrection, and the reason
Why this event was the main one and should be celebrated during the Easter season.
True resurrection is not the raising of the dead to life for of the dead there is none.
It’s impossible for God’s creations to die, therefore, eternal life is part of everyone.
Easter should be a celebration of peace, happiness, joy and the surety of life
It should never be a time to remember the cross and its cruelty, with which it is rife.

Walter your poem is an eye opener for the truth of Easter. Jesus showed the truth that there is only life. His example should be shouted from the roof tops. We are eternal beings and death is but an illusion . Thank you Jesus.
Loved your poem. Happy Easter. 💗
