“…To teach is to learn, so that teacher and learner are the same.”   …ACIM

If you’re reading this post then it was written for you. If you learn anything from it then it was written for you. If, in some way, it causes you to direct your thoughts away from the world’s curriculum just a bit then it was written for you. If you’ve reached the point where you can consider the possibility that Jesus may be right when he tells us that this is an insane world then it was written for you. If it provides you with just the least amount of hope then it was written for you. 

If anyone receives anything beneficial from it then it was written for that purpose. But the main person to whom it’s written is myself. For it’s my intention and desire to rise above the insanity of this world of the ego. I’m fully aware of, and completely believe in, the truth that teacher and learner are the same. 

As I write, information comes to me that seems to come from a Source other than the teachings of the world. This must be so for the simple reason that the two are completely opposite of each other. I don’t believe, or accept, one thing that the world teaches. And I wholeheartedly thank my Father for that.   

You are the Spirit lovingly endowed with all your Father’s love and peace and joy. You are the Spirit which completes Himself and shares His function as Creator. He is with you always, as you are with Him.”   …ACIM

Since the beginning of time mankind has crept farther and farther away from any relationship with his Creator. This departure from his Creator has been a painful journey into darkness. Not physical darkness such as occurs when the sun goes down, but a more severe form of darkness. It’s a spiritual darkness that happens when the connection to God becomes so faint that Love’s light is unrecognized.

This allows for lies and deceitful illusions to take the place of Truth, which, in turn, cause man to forget his  true nature. In forgetting his true nature – his true Self –  he becomes confused to such an extent that he no longer knows what he is, where he is, why he’s here or where he’s going.  

The journey into darkness – into time – commenced when God’s Son began listening to what The Course calls, a tiny mad idea. It was the idea that time can intrude upon eternity. Instead of laughing it away as the insane idea it is He placed His attention on it. The Power of His attention caused it to, as The Course says, become a serious idea and possible of both accomplishment and real effects. This was the very first illusion, for it’s impossible for time to intrude upon eternity, which means there is no time.

What it actually caused was separation, for time and eternity cannot be together. One cancels the other out. In turn, separation caused the making of the ego and the subsequent journey into darkness under its leadership. This journey into time has led to all the negative effects separation from our Creator has to offer, such as: Sorrow, depression, pain, fear, dreams of hell, old age, sickness and death.   

But there is good news in all of this. It’s what Jesus tells us about the journey into darkness: “Nothing at all has happened but that you have put yourself to sleep and dreamed a dream in which you were an alien to yourself and but a part of someone else’s dream.” He also says: “You are at home in God, dreaming of exile but perfectly capable of awakening to reality.”

“Frantic and loud and strong the dark ones seem to be. Yet they know not their enemy, except they hate him.”   …ACIM

When you learn from the teachings of this world it seems that you’re learning something new; something you didn’t know before. On the other hand, those who make the decision to learn from God’s Teacher, the Holy Spirit, eventually realize there’s nothing new to learn. They understand that learning means to awaken memories that already contain every bit of knowledge there is. These are the memories we all hold of our true Self and our relationship with our Creator.  

Eventually humans will awaken to the truth that we haven’t been evolving as the world teaches but just the opposite; we have been devolving. We haven’t been learning anything new; we have been forgetting what we once knew. We have been slipping farther and farther away from our Creator, our true Home and our true Selves. We have devolved to the point where we don’t even know who, or what, we are.

The dark entities who seem to control the world know this and have done everything within their perceived power to present us with a false narrative of our history. They see something in the majority of humans that they hate even though they don’t understand what it is. They see attributes of Love such as sinlessness, perfection, knowledge and eternal truth and they hate it because they feel threatened by it. The thing that frightens them more than any other thing in the Universe is the awakening of humanity to the truth.

As Jesus says, the dark ones seem to be strong. He also says, they know not their enemy, except they hate him. They don’t know their enemy because they don’t know anything about Love or Spirit. Other than the fact that they’re aware of a Power in humans which they don’t understand, they’re completely oblivious to both. 

Over the millennia they have learned that humanity and therefore, its Power, can be manipulated and controlled through fear. So they use the so-called mass media, which is no more than their own propaganda machine, to saturate humanity with fear. They know that’s the one and only way they can control you. 

If you can accept the idea that you are Spirit then fear will lower its ugly head in relation to your belief. The stronger your belief in your true Self and your relationship with God the less effect on you their fear mongering will have. As the ageless Truth informs us, perfect Love casts out fear.  

“You see the flesh or recognize the Spirit.”   …ACIM

I use this quote quite often for I believe it’s one of the most important pieces of information in The Course. As The Course says: There is no choice in vision but this one. If one is real the other must be false, for what is real denies its opposite. In other words, you cannot see the flesh and recognize the Spirit at the same time.

Your body’s eyes will always see other bodies. That’s not what this is referring to. For example, one of the ideas it’s referring to is this; when you look into a mirror; what do you see? Do you simply see yourself as a body, or do you recognize the Spirit that animates the body, which is the real you? And when you look at another human being; what do you see? Do you see just a body or do you recognize the Spirit that is God’s Son? 

“You have the right to all the universe—to perfect peace, complete deliverance from all effects of sin, and to life eternal, joyous and complete in every way, as God appointed for His holy Son.”   …ACIM

Whether you see the flesh or recognize the Spirit you will always be safe. It can be no other way, for as Jesus says: “You are at home in God, dreaming of exile but perfectly capable of awakening to reality.” But that being said, if you see the flesh and fail to recognize the Spirit you will not believe that you are safe. Believing that the body is your home will take away all aspects of safety from your awareness. For we all know that the body is very vulnerable to every judgment the ego is inclined to lay upon it. As long as you truly believe the body is you you will live in a state of fear. It can be no other way. And the worst part of it is, as Jesus says: “If you choose flesh, you never will escape the body as your own reality, for you have chosen that you want it so.”

On the other hand he says: “But choose the Spirit, and all Heaven bends to touch your eyes and bless your holy sight, that you may see the world of flesh no more except to heal and comfort and to bless.”

I’m going to close this time with this quote from A Course In Miracles: “You dwell not here, but in eternity. You travel but in dreams while safe at home.”
