“All the darkness in the world cannot extinguish the light of a single candle.”  –St. Francis of Assisi

If you’re reading this post then it’s almost certain that you have manifested into this world of darkness for the purpose of shining Love’s light into it. The Course reveals what your mission here is: “Your mission is very simple. You have been chosen to live so as to demonstrate that you are not an ego.”

As you perceive Love’s Light within you initially it may be so dim that you’re hardly aware of it. But it matters not how dim it may seem to you at first for as my opening quote says: All the darkness in the world cannot extinguish the light of a single candle. In other words, darkness has no power whatsoever over light. It has no choice but to recede in light’s presence even if the light is dim. 

I am not a body. I am free.   –Jesus; A Course In Miracles

One of the most important lines in The Course, as far as I’m concerned, is the following, which I quote often: “You see the flesh or recognize the Spirit. There is no compromise between the two.” If you see the flesh and fail to recognize the Spirit then you are perceiving from the ego’s perspective. 

Again, as The Course points out: “The ego holds the body dear because it dwells in it and lives united with the home that it has made.” Therefore, to live so as to demonstrate that you are not an ego cannot be accomplished until you can convince yourself that you are not a body. For if you hold strongly to the erroneous belief that you’re a body then you believe the ego lives within you for you perceive yourself as its home. 

“The ego is the belief of the mind that it is completely on its own.”  –Jesus; A Course In Miracles 

The ego is the source of all fear which is the only condition possible when a mind harbors the belief that it’s completely on its own. Most people live their lives in the infinitesimally tiny part of the mind that believes itself to be separated from God and therefore, separated from everything else that existes. The more separated they believe they are, the more fear they experience. If you believe you’re separated from God then you believe you’re separated from Love. If you believe you’re separated from Love then there’s no other option left but fear. 

“The world provides no safety. It is rooted in attack and all its ‘gifts’ of seeming safety are illusory deceptions.”   –Jesus; A Course In Miracles 

During the last two years or so it seems that people have been clamoring to be on the receiving end of the world’s gifts of seeming safety. But as the above quote points out, the world provides no safety and all its gifts are illusory deceptions. 

In describing this world Jesus says, “This is an insane world, and do not underestimate the actual extent of its insanity.” There can be no safety in a world which sees the flesh only, fails to recognize the Spirit and by default is devoid of Love. This world is devoid of Love by default for it is an ego construct and therefore its foundation is based in fear.

“If a mind perceives without love, it perceives an empty shell and is unaware of the spirit within it.”    –Jesus; A Course In Miracles  

This world is insane because it’s controlled by a group of insane entities who are completely and utterly separated from Love. They are the purest forms of egotistical existence imaginable. They’re empty shells who completely lack any sense or understanding of empathy or compassion. 

Because of their perceived and complete separation from Love they live in constant fear which is the cause of their insanity. But the thing that they fear above all else is you, me and others recognizing the Spirit. In other words, recognizing what we are. Even though they’re completely separated from Love and therefore cannot recognize it, they know there’s a mighty Power in humanity that most humans have forgotten about. 

Their worst nightmare is the awakening of individual humans to the recognition of what they are. They know that once a human awakens and recognizes the Spirit they have no more power, influence or control over him or her. 

“The mind can make the belief in separation very real and very fearful, and this belief is the ‘devil.’”    –Jesus; A Course In Miracles  

There are two things which those who only see the flesh and fail to recognize the Spirit absolutely fear. The most feared of these two is the illusionary experience we refer to as death. This fear is brought about by the mind’s belief in separation. As the above quote tells us, the mind can make this belief very real and very fearful. If you believe you’re separated from God then the idea of death seems very real and very frightening.

On the other hand, those who see beyond the flesh and recognize the Spirit also recognize the truth of what they are. They understand that they are eternal Spiritual Beings and that death doesn’t exist. They understand that they’re not the body, in fact, they realize that they’re not even in the body as The Course says, The body is outside you, and but seems to surround you… 

As long as you accept the ego as your reality it will seem as if the body surrounds you. Like everything in this physical frequency this is an illusion but a very powerful one. It is powerful enough to imprison a Son of God and cause him to fear the body’s demise, which he perceives as death. But choose to recognize the Spirit as your reality and all the fear concerning death will leave your most holy Mind. For Love, which is the Spirit, and fear cannot occupy the same space. 

“For poverty is lack, and there is but one lack since there is but one need.”   –Jesus; A Course In Miracles

The other thing that is feared by those who see the flesh almost as much, sometimes even more, than death is poverty. How many actually believe that they have only one need? Only those who recognize the Spirit could even entertain such an idea. Most humans believe they have a plethora of needs. But in actuality they have just one and that is to recognize the Spirit. Once you recognize the Spirit you’ll no longer perceive yourself as separate from God. Once you can believe you’re part of God and could never be separate from Him you’ll have overcome the fake power of the ego. You’ll be able to demonstrate that you are not one.

“The first step toward freedom must entail a sorting out of the false from the true.”   –Jesus; A Course In Miracles

Those who think they control this planet use the two fears mentioned above, namely death and poverty, against humanity. That has always been their mode of operation but especially so during the last two years. They have used their publicity arm, the so-called mass media, to instill absolute fear into the minds of the public by repeatedly warning of both death and poverty from a non-existent source.

As The Course points out, your creation by God is the only foundation which cannot be shaken because the light is in it. If you believe you’re separate from God then you’re living as though you’re an ego. There’s not one foundation the ego has built upon that can’t be shaken. 

I’m going to close this post with a verse from Lesson 152 of The Course: “Salvation is the recognition that the truth is true and nothing else is true. This you have heard before, but may not yet accept both parts of it. Without the first, the second has no meaning, but without the second is the first no longer true. Truth cannot have an opposite. This cannot be too often said and thought about. For if what is not true is true as well as what is true, then part of truth is false, and truth has lost its meaning. Nothing but the truth is true, and what is false is false.”
