There’s no denying the fact that at this moment in our history this world is in serious trouble. From violence against the helpless, to climate change, to political corruption, to corporate greed, there’s an almost endless line of negative forces in play. For those who don’t believe in miracles it can be one of the darkest and most fearful times in all of history. 

Even for those, like myself, who do believe in the miraculous Power of Love it can have its discouraging times to contend with. But they are temporary times for those of us who believe in God, Love and miracles. We recognize the Light within us that shines through all of that and allows us to look upon a different world. 

“It is time to inject a new dimension of love into the veins of our civilization.”   ~~Martin Luther King, Jr.

Dr. King also said, “We have a power inside us more powerful than the power of bullets.” On April 4, 1968, in Memphis, Tennessee, it seemed that he might have been proven wrong in his statement. For it seemed that the power of a bullet overcame the power within him. But did it really; or did it just add more brightness to the glorious Power he believed in? 

His physical sojourn ended on that day but the Power he saw within all of us became stronger. And his message still reverberates around the world to this very day stronger than ever. The Power he saw inside of us is the Power of Love and nothing can stop Love from extending its Power. As the great American poet and civil rights activist, Maya Angelou pointed out with these words: “It jumps hurdles, leaps fences, penetrates walls to arrive at its destination full of hope.”

In reality Love can have no opposite but in this world of illusions everything seems to have an opposite. This world is here as we see it because we have rejected and blocked Love from entering. Even though Maya Angelou tells us that Love jumps hurdles, leaps fences, and penetrates walls It cannot penetrate the mind that believes itself to be separated from its Source. 

Love with all Its Power can only find Its way into our world after we begin to have, at least, a mediocre recognition of Spirit. Once this recognition occurs, regardless of how faintly in the beginning, eventually it will make the challenging journey from the head to the heart, the residence of Love. 

Here the way of Truth and Love will eventually reveal Itself in a glorious explosion of light and understanding. It’s then that the ego and all its fearful thoughts will revert back into the nothingness from which it came. The disappearance of the ego allows the way of Truth and Love to be shared with a world in desperate need of it.   

“Choose once again if you would take your place among the saviors of the world, or would remain in hell and hold your brothers there.”   ~~A Course In Miracles

The Course also says, “the power of decision is your one remaining freedom as a prisoner of this world.” You can decide to take your place among the saviors of the world simply by focusing on the Power of Love that’s already within you. Or you can decide to remain in hell as a prisoner of this world by inviting fear to be your jailer. It’s your choice. The low vibrations of fear will surround, penetrate and fill your being until you change your mind and allow Love to take its place. 

The concepts that perfect Love casts out fear, God is Love and as a human thinks so is he or she, are not new awakenings. In fact, these truths have been heralded to, and ignored by, humankind for thousands upon thousands of years. 

We make our debut into this world in complete innocence, wonderment and Love. This is so because even though our memories are erased of everything except Love and we have to begin anew we still feel the connection to our Creator; to Love. We know who and what we are. 

But that knowledge is soon taught out of us by well-meaning adults. These adults, such as parents, school teachers, older relatives, etc., teach us what they have learned. They condition us to face what they believe to be a hostile world by teaching us we’re something other than we are. Therefore, we spend most of our physical experience confused, asking the questions; who am I; what am I; where am I; why am I here; what is the purpose of it all?  

“You are a Child of God, a priceless part of His Kingdom, which He created as part of Him.”   ~~A Course In Miracles

All the power of your Creator is available to you once you remember and accept what you are. How could it not be so if, as the above quote says, God created you as part of Him? Reading words like the above quote won’t cause an instant awakening but if you’re ready it can do nothing except bring about some abstract understanding. The answers to the questions mentioned above will begin to ferment first in your intellect. 

The answer to the question; who am I? You are an individualized extension of Spirit. What am I? You are a Thought of God. Where am I? You are in the Mind of God. Why am I here? You are here as an extension of pure Love to extend the Power of Love. What is the purpose of it all? The only purpose life has is God’s Will and God’s Will for you is perfect happiness.  

It is time to inject a new dimension of love into the veins of our civilization.

It was time for this in Dr. King’s day and it’s also time for it now. In fact, there has never been a time that needed this injection more so than right now. It’s the right time right now to look at Jesus’ directive to choose once again if you would take your place among the saviors of the world, or would remain in hell and hold your brothers there.

There’s only one Power that can save the world from all the fear it now seems to be experiencing and that Power is Love. The glorious thing about it is, once you can allow the idea that you are a Child of God, a priceless part of His Kingdom, which He created as part of Him to enter your thinking you’ll eventually realize the truth that you are that Love. You have the Power to send Love into this world by thinking from Love instead of fear.  And every loving thought you think will jump hurdles, leaps fences, penetrate walls to arrive at its destination full of hope.

I’m going to close this post with two quotes. The first is a poetical quote by Shel Silverstein: “Listen to the mustn’ts, child. Listen to the don’ts. Listen to the shouldn’ts, the impossibles, the won’ts. Listen to the never haves, then listen close to me… Anything can happen, child. Anything can be.”

The second one is by Philip Wollen⁠: “Start now. There is not enough darkness in the world to put out the light of a single candle.”
