Are You Attractive?

07-15-Carefree

“Can you imagine what it means to have no caresno worries, no anxieties, but merely to be perfectly calm and quiet all the time? Yet that is what time is for—to learn just that and nothing more.”   …ACIM

Could such a state as that described in the above quote even exist in this world of separated bodies that always seem to be hustling and bustling and going nowhere? Well according to the Course it could, for it tells us that’s what time is for—to learn just that and nothing more. And as I’ve pointed out many times throughout these posts about the Course; it will be believed entirely or not at all. Therefore, I have to answer, yes, it’s not only possible, but it’s something we must learn if we’re ever to escape the prison we have made for ourselves.

And make no mistake, we have made this physical world and our bodies into prisons. The body is held prisoner by the limitations our beliefs place upon it. And most of us believe the body is what we are, therefore our beliefs have made us prisoners of the world. The Course pulls no punches in this, for it tells us: “You have enslaved the world with all your fears, with doubts and miseries, your pain and tears, and all your sorrows press upon it and keep it a prisoner to your beliefs.” And by enslaving the world we have enslaved ourselves.

The world we see is a reflection of  what we see within

We all believe we live in our own little worlds, and these separate little worlds are reflections of our inner worlds. What we think about is what we see in the world around us. As long as we insist on thinking from the ego’s thought system of fear, so long will the world we see be filled with sickness, wars, tragedy, and other fearful things. As the above quote points out, you have enslaved the world with all your fears.

Image may contain: fireworks and textIt matters not how we feel or what we see, there are just two emotions from which we build our lives. Everything, every feeling, every experience, no matter what it is, has as its foundation either Love or fear. There are no others to choose from, regardless of how we see it or what we think.

We would be very wise to memorize the quote by Karen Linsley in the above image. We  should commit it to our memory banks, and repeat it with forceful emotion every time we become aware that we are thinking from the ego’s thought system of fear and negativity.

“Neutral thoughts are impossible because all thoughts have power. They will either make a false world or lead me to the real one.”   …The Course

You may find it difficult to believe that your thoughts have an effect upon the world. But according to the above quote, our thoughts are powerful enough to make a false world. A false world is one made by thoughts of fear which come from the ego’s thought system. These thoughts have no foundation therefore they can make only that which is false.

There’s nothing in the universe as powerful as thought. The universe itself was created as Thought in God’s Mind; and so were we. We are Thoughts – glorious and perfect ideas – in the Mind of God.

The above header quote points out a very important aspect when it informs us that our thoughts will do one of two things. They’ll either make a false world or lead us to the real one. We can take from this that the real one is already there. This is the world that we have abandoned in favor of the false ones that we have made for ourselves.

07-18-PerishableThe ones we have made are false – illusions – because they are made from a false thought system. They’re based on a system of fear, and therefore, they have no foundation. Like all things physical,  they are temporary, and will eventually return to the nothingness from which they arose.

Nothing false can be in God’s Mind, therefore, if, and when, we train our minds to think from His Thought System of Love we will be led back to the real world. For those that are ready to do so, the Course asks us to embark on the following exercise of discovery:

“Sit quietly and look upon the world you see, and tell yourself, The real world is not like this. It has no buildings, and there are no streets where people walk alone and separate. There are no stores where people buy an endless list of things they do not need.
It is not lit with artificial light, and night comes not upon it. There is no day that brightens and grows dim. There is no loss. Nothing is there but shines, and shines forever.

“That which is like unto itself, is drawn.”   …Abraham-Hicks

Everything is energy and that’s all there is to it. Match the frequency of the reality you want and you cannot help but get that reality. It can be no other way. This is not philosophy. This is physics”   …Albert Einstein

There’s a lot of information being pushed at us nowadays concerning the basic law upon which everything in existence depends. It’s the Law God uses in creation; it’s an eternal Law that has been in existence eternally. It’s a basic attribute of God, and as such it never had a beginning, even though it has been promoted recently as a new discovery. Abraham, that group of non-physical entities who offer blocks of thought to Esther Hicks, who in turn translates them into words, were the first to call it, The Law of Attraction.

This Law is the reason that, as Jesus points out, our thoughts will either make a false world or lead to the real one. As Einstein informed us, Everything is energy, and that includes our thoughts. Energy is never static, it’s always vibrating, and whatever is vibrating at the same frequencies are attracted to each other. Again, as Einstein pointed out: Match the frequency of the reality you want and you cannot help but get that reality.

But that being said, it’s not an easy thing to direct our thoughts consistently. In fact, thinking is just about the most difficult endeavor humans can indulge in. I’m not referring to mental activity, I’m talking about specific thinking, and there’s a world of difference between the two.

“Every person, all the events of your life are there because you have drawn them there.”   …Richard Bach

Richard Bach is one of those people with the ability to cram a world of understanding and enlightenment into very few words. The above quote from him emphasizes the Law of Attraction, even though he never mentions it as such. He says that all the people and events in our lives are there because we have drawn them there. How have we drawn them into our lives except through the frequencies of our thoughts?

Whatever frequencies our thoughts match will be drawn to us. As Albert Einstein said, It can be no other way  In the title of this post I asked: Are you attractive? Well there’s no answer to that other than, Yes I am. We’re all very attractive. The real question is, what are we attracting? For we will attract whatever we become a vibrational match to.

I’m going to close this post with a beautiful little poem by Henry Van Dyke, which, I think fits right in with the subject. It’s titled: Thoughts are Things.

I hold it true that thoughts are things;
They’re endowed with bodies and breath and wings;
And that we send them forth to fill
The world with good results, or ill.
That which we call our secret thought
Speeds forth to earth’s remotest spot,
Leaving its blessings or its woes
Like tracks behind it as it goes.
We build our future thought by thought,
For good or ill, yet know it not.
Yet, so the universe was wrought.
Thought is another name for fate;
Choose, then, thy destiny and wait,
For love brings love and hate brings hate.

    I like the line in this post that says; “Everything, every feeling, every experience, no matter what it is, has as its foundation either Love or fear.” I also like the bible verses 1John4:18-19 “There is no fear in love, but perfect love drives out fear, because fear involves punishment. The one who fears has not been perfected in love. We love because He first loved us.…” We need to let God’s perfect love drive out our fear, so that we can approach and respond to everyone and everything with love. Thank you for this post Walter, I found it encouraged me to press into God today.
